Name That Feeling

This program is a unique seven-week educational support group for children, ages 7-13, who have a family member with a mental illness. (Any mental illness is included) Children are taught an understanding of mental illness, which provides an opportunity for them to share emotionally and relationally with the group and facilitators.
Topics Covered in the 7 Sessions:

• Identifying and communicating feelings
• Understanding all about mental illnesses
• How mental illness is treated
• Dealing with societal attitudes of stigma
• Resilience, self-care and self -esteem

Each session lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours and is held after school. Using interactive learning activities, discussion, crafts and games, children join together in developing healthy attitudes and coping skills.

Individual consultaton and teen groups are also offered.
